The name Yahweh Nissi — The Lord Is My Banner — comes from Exodus 17:15. After Israel’s victory over the Amalekites, Moses built an altar and named it after what he had witnessed: God as the rallying point, the covering, the one under whom the battle was fought.

“Protected” is not a promise that nothing hard will happen. It is a declaration of whose covering you stand under — and that changes everything about how you walk.
